East Sussex motorists top for car claims

Motorists in East Sussex may be among those to find it the toughest to obtain cheap car insurance cover, according to new research.
Moneysupermarket.com has revealed that drivers in the county are the most likely to make a claim on their motor insurance for theft either from their vehicle or actually of their vehicle.
The website stated that over four per cent of motorists from the village of Winchelsea in East Sussex are liable to make a claim, with fellow drivers from Saltburn-by-the-sea in Cleveland, and the village of Godstone in Surrey also among the most prone to claim.
Andy Leadbetter, head of insurance at moneysupermarket.com, said: "I'd expect to see bustling urban hot spots to be topping the list but it seems English villages are not the idyllic locales we may think at least not when it comes to car theft."
He added that parking a vehicle in a garage, fitting it with an alarm and steering wheel lock and not leaving valuables on display may help a motorist in their search for cheap car insurance as their vehicle's safety will be improved.
The website also recently stated that a person may be able to gain a cheaper car insurance quote by collecting a range of quotes from different providers.
