Motorists given cheap car insurance advice

Motorists looking for a way to cut the costs of using the road have been given some advice on how to obtain cheap car insurance cover.
With the costs of getting behind the wheel rising, making the decision to shop around for car insurance could allow a person to make a financial saving, according to moneysupermarket.com.
The price comparison site states that a person could potentially reduce their current motor insurance by as much as a third by gaining a car insurance quote off of a number of providers.
Motorists are also encouraged to think about what they need and not to pay unnecessarily for extras that they do not require.
These include paying for a courtesy car when a second vehicle is readily available in the household or for comprehensive car insurance when the vehicle being driven has a low valuation.
Further cost-cutting points include parking a car in a garage, avoiding adding modifications to a vehicle and not speeding when behind the wheel, which could result in points being totted up on a driving licence.
Recent research from moneysupermarket.com found that a person deemed to be at fault in a road accident could see there car insurance rise by as much as 60 per cent.
