Plymouth commuters caught speeding

A large number of commuters in Plymouth have made it more difficult for themselves to receive cheap car insurance by being caught speeding, reports This is Plymouth.
Police set up mobile cameras on a local stretch of road after residents complained of early morning commuters disobeying the speed limit, despite the fact the busy road is used by schoolchildren and other pedestrians.
Both cars and motorbikes were monitored by the cameras in both directions, with some drivers found to be driving at speeds of up to 60 miles per hour.
PC Ian Tanner told the newspaper: "This enforcement is to address these complaints and make the roads of Plymouth safer for all road-users.
"There was a small minority who chose to drive with no regard for the safety of others by reaching speeds of nearly twice the legal limit despite the presence of safety cameras adjacent to a school."
Around a year ago to the day, the government punished those caught driving in excess of 45 miles per hour in 30 miles per hour zone with six penalty points, which would increase the costs of a future car insurance quote.
