Sunbeds 'definitely cause cancer'

People who use sunbeds are creating a definite risk to their health, according to a healthcare authority.
International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) said that there is now no doubt that the machines are responsible for causing skin cancer.
The organisation has previously claimed that sunbeds are "probably" responsible for causing cancer insurance customers to develop the condition, but it has now strengthened its stance on the subject.
According to the group, a frequent regular sunbed user is increasing their chances of getting cancer by 75 per cent, backing up previous studies carried out by Cancer Research UK.
"The link between sunbeds and skin cancer has been convincingly shown in a number of scientific studies now and so we are very pleased that IARC have upgraded sunbeds to the highest risk category," says Jessica Harris, health information officer at Cancer Research UK.
A recent poll by the organisation revealed that 90 per cent of people with cancer cover think those under the age of 18 should be banned from using tanning booths.
