What is Over 50s Personal Accident?
All about the Plan
-
Accidents can happen and if they do it’s good to know you’ve got the right cover in place to help make a difficult time easier. As you get older your thoughts of injury and recovery may worry you more as burns, fractures and broken bones often take longer to heal.
Your recuperation may also be slower and if you suffer an injury meaning your partner needs to take time off work to look after you, could you afford any escalating costs?
There could be additional expenses such as taxis to hospital, keeping your home warm all day, specialist dietary requirements etc… All this can put a big strain on your finances.
The Over 50s Personal Accident Plan is our solution and is specially designed to help ease your money worries by paying you a cash sum should you be involved in an accident. The Plan can help cushion the financial strain so you can concentrate on getting well and back on your feet again.
Depending on the type of cover you have, if you suffer multiple temporary injuries, the Plan can pay out up to £15,000 for Standard Cover and £30,000 for Platinum Cover. And unlike some insurance plans for the Over 50s there’s no waiting period so you are covered as soon as your Plan is set up - there's no medical examination and no awkward health questions.
-
Please note that the Personal Accident Plan is not an income protection product.
This insurance is provided by Chartis Europe Limited. Please read the Policy Document for a full list of Personal Accident benefits.

What’s not covered?
There are also some events that are not covered and where benefit will not be payable. The most significant exclusions or limitations of these are:
- For a fractured bone if you have been diagnosed with osteoporosis or pathological fracture
- If your injuries are the result of a sickness or disease;
- If you die within three months of the accident.
Benefits for permanent disabilities covered by the plan will be reduced if you have an existing physical or medical condition which contributes to a permanent disability you suffer after a covered accident.
Please check the Policy Document for full details of all terms and exclusions.
