Senior Personal Accident plan
As we get older the thought of an injury worries us more. Burns, fractures and broken bones may take longer to heal – and recuperation can take longer too. All this can put a big strain on your finances.
Imagine you suffered an injury that meant your partner needed to take time off work to look after you? Other costs can mount up too – taxis to the hospital for example, or keeping your home warm all day.
Your peace of mind
The Over 50 Accident Plan aims to cushion the financial blow of an injury by paying out cash sums of up to £15,000 for a wide range of injuries. There’s also a one off payment of £50 if your injury is not covered by the plan and you spend two or more days in hospital as an in–patient. Individual cover costs just £4.95 a month and your premium won’t rise as a result of you getting older. There’s no medical and no upper age limit – so provided you maintain your payments, you stay covered. And unlike some insurance plans for the over 50s, there is no waiting period, so you are covered as soon as your plan is set up
How the plan can help you
It could happen...
Another car runs into yours and you sustain multiple fractures. You receive the maximum payout under the Plan – £15,000. The money is yours to spend as you wish to aid your recuperation.
It does happen...
You trip and fall down the stairs – the next thing you know, you’re admitted to hospital with a dislocated hip. With Chartis Direct you receive £500 for your injury, which could go towards physiotherapy to help you recover fully.
Injuries that won’t heal...
If you were left with a permanent disability, the money you receive could help towards the equipment you might need in your new circumstances – like modifications to your car so you can still drive.
Helping you rest and recuperate
Should you suffer an injury like a bad burn, you’re likely to be told to rest as much as possible while your body recovers. The money the Plan provides could help towards some home help to do the jobs you shouldn’t be doing.
Money for hospital stays
Even when no other benefit is payable under the Plan for an injury you’ve suffered, you can still claim £50 for a hospital stay following an accident, provided you are in–patient for at least two nights. That’s more than 10 month’s worth of premiums for individual cover!
